Anyone who's been online more than a couple of weeks will have found dozens of sites they now consider to be indespensible. Here we've listed a few of the sites & software that we use on a daily basis to help us troubleshoot the many problems we come across.

Viruses & Spyware
http://www.avast.com - A free and very effective anti-virus utility. We'll be adding an Avast setup guide to this section soon to show you how to get the most out of this valuable utility so watch this space!
http://www.safer-networking.org - Home of Spybot Search & Destroy, one of the most comprehensive free anti-spyware utilities we've ever found. A must have for any windows user, this will clean existing spyware off of your system and help stop it coming back!
http://www.malwarebytes.org - Useful for stubborn malware, this is a very, very effective tool. The free version is limited to reactive scans but for most users with a problem that's more than enough!
http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ - Not a scanner as such but an exceptionally useful utility for finding out what's actually happening and getting rid of the most stubborn unwanted programs. This is not a tool for the inexperienced, it is exceptionally powerful and can do damage if not used properly.
http://free.antivirus.com/rubotted/ - Botnets (networks of infected computers) are a huge problem and one which just seems to keep on growing. This handy utility proactivly monitors your computer for any sign of a malicious 'bot', alerts you to the problem and offers to fix it for you - all for free!
